We left RKCR and started freelancing straight away with the wonderful people at Joint.

We’ve pitched for and won Kettle Chips and Metcalfe’s Popcorn with them and ads for TSB and UKTV will get posted soon, but in the meantime here’s a festive ad for Amazon Prime that went viral across the world. It’s running on TV and Cinema in the UK, USA, Germany, Austria and Canada. Trending in Pakistan and India. Talked about on CNN and all the major Newspapers around the world.

But best of all is seeing the public’s reaction to it as it became the most liked ad in the USA along with the Star Wars ad.

Beautifully directed by Simon Ratigan at HLA, effortlessly edited by Bruce Townend at The Quarry.

And it would never have been made without the whole team at Joint, Claudio Gorini, Josh Harris, Safeena Dhalla, Toni Barker, John Degraft Johnson, Tom Arnold and of course Damon Collins, Lori Meakin, Richard Exon and Simon Morris at Amazon.

Have a look at the case study film below too.

Imam Zia Sheikh from Texas was one of the first to upload the ad to his Facebook page and within a couple of days it was shared over 10 million times from his post. Meanwhile in NY comedian Sameer Lakhani has had 20.5 million views of his post alone.

A collection of news clips:

What a year it’s been. The Priest and Imam went from strength to strength, becoming the most effective Christmas campaign in 2016 and one of the most popular ads of 2017.

A global poster campaign. That was designed to be a global social media campaign. The biggest poster sites in the world became an instagram backdrop for people to send messages of love and peace to their friends and families around the planet. This is a small selection of what is possibly the most shared poster campaign ever. Created with Jack Brough, with typography by Neil Craddock and an enormous amount of art-working by Joint’s superb design department, it is the biggest out of home campaign I’ve ever put out.

Here’s the latest work for Amazon, Connections and Bedtime Story. Connections was all over the USA and UK before Christmas and will be showing across the rest of Europe this year. Bedtime Story has been playing in the USA and is being launched across the UK and Europe right now. Both were superbly directed by Jake Scott at RSA and the client is Simon Morris.

Connections is based on my something my daughter said to me when I asked her to turn her Grime music down and asked why she didn’t play ‘our’ music anymore. “I play those songs when I miss you”. Something that many people have echoed on Social media when commenting on the ad. Bedtime Story was written by Algy Sharman, Ciara O’Meara, Tam Kerr and myself, in the sort of writers room you will only experience at Joint London. An amazing team effort. We’re off to shoot more in March and there’s still a beautiful ad we shot with Frederic Planchon from Acadamy to air this year.

On air at the moment across Europe is the commercial we shot with Frederic Planchon from Acadamy.  Spoilers below, so if you haven’t seen it have a watch first.

With enormous help from everyone at Joint London and the RNIB, not to mention our clients at Amazon, it’s been great to see the public reaction to it when it’s seen for the first time.

Our actress was the wonderful Fabien Haustant, an amazing dancer from France and her own guide dog Findley.

The ad is available audio described as well of course, both on TV and online.

For all those who’s children have left for university and anyone who had to share a bedroom with a sibling :)

This new commercial for Amazon Alexa is currently playing across the United States at the same time as Morning Ritual in Europe.

It was directed by the lovely Jake Scott at RSA and of course, made the wonderful team at Joint.
